tourmaline jewelry

I was admiring a friends ring the other day and asked her about it. It had a pink gem on it with small diamonds on either side, set in white gold. I loved the pinkish hue to it and thought it was rather unique. She told me it was a line of tourmaline jewelry. Tourmaline, I found out, is a pink gem that means wisdom and also is a gem of commitment. Whatever it symbolizes, it is very appealing and beautiful. My friend said her husband gave her the tourmaline jewelry, (she also has the matching necklace), for their 15th wedding anniversary and is always getting comments on the set. When I got home, I looked online for tourmaline jewelry and was surprised to find out that it is one of the birthstones of October. I always thought the opal was the only stone for that month. What a beautiful combination of tourmanline and opals for a ring, bracelet or necklace. My mom's birthday is in October and with some help from my siblings, what a gorgeous gift it would be. Tourmaline is now one of my favorite gems.
