Bridal Jewelry and Wedding Traditions |

One thing that I love about planning weddings is tradition. I love the "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue" tradition. This provides such a wonderful opportunity for family and friends of the bride to share something from their heritage with her. I recently celebrated my eleventh wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband. Although we've had our misunderstandings and disagreements over the years, we have had many tender moments that far outweigh them. I took out our wedding album the other day to take a look back at our big day. My Maid of Honor stepped up to the plate with my something borrowed. She loaned me the small drawstring bag that she had used in her wedding. My mother provided me with something old, and she allowed me to wear her diamond jewelry earrings. Pearl necklaces had always been a favorite choice of mine, so I had a new one for my wedding day. And, my something blue was the hankie that I carried inside of the drawstring bag. When the day comes for my daughter to get married, I hope to pass on my bridal jewelry to her, continuing in the traditional way.
