Gold Pendant from the Wild West Days |

Over the holidays, after taking a good week off work I was able to get home for the holidays and see my family. Like many, this was an awesome experience. My grandma is getting older and I only see her once maybe twice a year. So this year I sat down with her and listened to old stories she still remembers from back in the day. She has lived within the same area her entire 85 years minus the first few years of life. She has seen once dirt, Southwestern roads turn into high rises and yuppies. It is hard for me to even imagine. I asked her about a gold pendant she always wears and got a really cool story out of it.
As it goes, the gold pendant came from her father who when she was a child got pulled in for rustling cattle. After fleeing the long arm of the Wild West law he gave her mom the gold pendant he had found god knows where. He ended up getting caught and the family moved on. The gold pendant was later handed down to my grandma and she now always has it near her person. She never really knew her father so this was one of the only remaining mementos of him. I thought it was a great story for a vintage looking gold jewelry.
