Bridal Jewelry
Two of my closest friends were co-workers and friends for years before they got married. When the bride walked down the aisle she wore a special necklace as part of her bridal jewelry. It was a necklace that my other friend, her soon to be husband, gave her one year at the office Christmas party. After working together two years, that was the evening he got up the courage to ask her for a date.
Now two yeas later, they were getting married and as their co-worker and her matron of honor, I was pleased. I helped him pick out the necklace that was a prominent part of her bridal jewelry because I knew he liked her and I knew she liked him. I encouraged him to ask her out and here we were, their friends, family and co-workers seeing them getting married.
At the reception, they came up to me with a little box. In it was a necklace similar to the one she was wearing. It was beautiful but I was puzzled. After all, this was their big day. Then he turned around and made a toast to me, the friend and co-worker that encouraged them to follow their hearts. I look upon that necklace as my own little special piece of bridal jewelry from their big day that day.
